Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Review
Not a remake, it’s a remaster in 4k. Which does look better.
The difference being a repolishing of the existing thing is a remaster and remake is the whole thing done better from the ground up – the art everything. This is not that – it’s a remaster.
This feels very like an update but the environments have been really updated and they have done a lot of work. The character models are a big improvement.
Plus meaningful changes to the gameplay.
They are trying to keep the essence of game. The criticism will be that people may think it’s a little long in the tooth.
1st one is 13 years old – which is the best one.
It doesn’t continue seamlessly and goes back to the launcher menu
The game is all in 4k and everything has been hand touched , every character every asset.
There won’t be multi player in mass effect 3 (too much work)
It wasn’t done in the unreal 4 engine – as again it was too much work
But all of the changes made are pretty good overall.
The character model is the biggest improvement from mass effect one.
The improvements do make a difference for a game that holds a place in many gamers hearts.
The elevator rides used to mask the loading times (sometimes a minute long)
-- Mass Effect: Legendary Edition contains single-player base content from all three titles in the original Mass Effect trilogy
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs
Set within the Milky Way galaxy during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against a highly advanced machine race of synthetic-organic starships called Reapers.
Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.
Exploration around the world has also been tweaked, such as reduced time spent in elevators that are utilized as a way to hide loading screens, which was a commonly criticized aspect of the original game
